At Glasgow Zoo

Here I am at Glasgow Zoo, with a lion. Please contact me if you remember seeing me there, or have a photo of me. Thank you very much!

Created not Begotten

I know you wouldn't be able to guess this - so I'm going to tell you. I'm not a real bear. That's right - I'm a Teddy Bear. Ursa Major they sometimes call me, which means, the big bear. Also, for a long part of my life, I was called Mr Happy.

Ever since I was created I have considered it my job and first prority to spread as much happiness around as I possibly can. Right now, I'm busy writing my very own book - my arctobiography. I could really do with some help though. You see, my creator, Elaine, failed to rescue my photographs the day her house burnt down. Now I am trying hard to find people who might have a photo or memory of me, either from my early days when people called me Kelly, from my middle life as The Skoda Bear when I lived in Redditch, or from my later life as Mr Happy, when I lived in Glasgow. In Glasgow I lived first with The Daily Record newspaper, and then I retired from the paper in 1974, and moved to Glasgow Zoo at Calderpark.

PLEASE get in touch if you remember seeing me! Elaine is keen to know when I left Glasgow Zoo, and as my brawn is much bigger than my brain, I'm afraid I can't remember.

Hello Everybody! Welcome to my blogspot.

This is a photo of me taken at my first home at Longparish, in Hampshire, Southern England. With me is Iris Maidment, the mother of my creator, and her Siamese cat, Taki.
